Dating back to pre-Roman Britain, Sherwood Forest was once one of the best Royal Hunting Forests in the land.

 

But it's not just its history that has everyone fascinated with the Forest, it's the legend and folklore that comes with it. From fairies to elementals, many stories have been told of this ancient woodland, but it's the legend of Robin Hood that captivates all.

 

The tale of Robin Hood is one that has been sung and written about for centuries; a Yeoman who stole from the rich to give to the poor. But just who is the famous outlaw behind the hood? Join us to find out!

Sherwood Forest is one of the most haunted woods in the UK, and it's not surprising given its dark and bloody history. Many people would've been killed on their journey through the Forest, as it was a dangerous place full of thieves waiting to pounce. It's believed that many-a-men copied our favourite outlaw over the centuries, but despite this, the spirit of Robin Hood has allegedly been picked up here by numerous mediums and paranormal investigators.

 

There have also been many reports of dark hooded figures walking the paths of the Forest, believed to be pagan worshippers of England's long forgotten past.

 

The ghost of a White Lady has been sensed in one part of the Forest, as well as the sounds of children heard laughing nearby.

 

The sounds of gunfire has often been heard here, believed to be echoes of the Sherwood Foresters training for war, with scary mists appearing in photos when there's no mist around.

 

Phantom footsteps rustle the leaves and twigs, and a strong negative feeling is sensed at the 'Witches Bowl', where stories of witchcraft and sacrifices took place. With so many hauntings, you're bound to experience something strange in these creepy woods.

WHAT TO BRING: A torch, a warm coat/jacket, sensible footwear, any equipment you wish to bring along (your responsibility), your positive and open-minded energies.
