Join Brookes Paranormal this sinister September for a Ghost Hunt at Moira Furnace Museum in South Derbyshire. This will be the first time in 6 years since we last investigated this incredible building due to structural maintenance and restoration work, and WE CAN'T WAIT to investigate this place again WITH YOU! For more info on Moira Furnace Museum events, click here.

Located near Swadlincote, South Derbyshire, the historic Moira Furnace was built in 1804 by the Earl of Moira to exploit local iron ore and coal. Utilising the adjacent Ashby-de-la-Zouch Canal for transportation routes, the ironworks opened in 1806 but closed its doors just five years later due to poor design, bad management, and contaminated raw materials. While the foundry and engine house were eventually demolished, the surviving bridgehouse was saved by the Leicestershire Industrial History Society, and the site acquired in 1981 by the local council, who transformed it into the museum and country park seen today.

After dark, Moira Furnace becomes a hotspot for paranormal activity. Inside the museum, investigators report disembodied voices, screams in the bridge loft, a spectral boy crouching by the chimney and heavy footsteps in the Moira Room (Mary's Kitchen). Visitors frequently experience sudden nausea near the staircases, as well as the sensation of being touched by unseen hands. The supernatural happenings extend across the grounds, where shadow figures dart through the trees, phantom children laugh along woodland trails, spectral 19th-century farmers patrol the boundaries, and the tragic ghost of a drowned man floats eerily along the Ashby Canal. With a vast amount of paranormal occurences recorded here, are you brave enough to spend a night ghost hunting at Moira Furnace Museum?
